There is a book entitled Bass Line that is very important work. It is by bassist Milt Hinton who traveled the world with different bands and documented every step. Many jazz photographs are by photographers that are not musicians but Milt's point of view is unique. Behind the scenes and life as a black musician from Mississippi during segregation make his work a valuable document.
